News stories abound stating that Barack Obama is sinking in the polls, or not making strides to far out-pace John McCain.
Of course, it would be nice -- if not fair and balanced -- if the press would give McCain some of the negative press he more than deserves.
Faced with voluminous poll reporting, of course, the Democrats are getting nervous. The press keeps hammering away at the polls, which are dubious at best.
It all depends on how the question is asked and who asks the questions of whom.
The bottom line is how the press itself does polls, reports poll numbers, spreads rumors and spins what McCain’s people say.
Send a lie or float an idea through the proverbial fan long enough, and it will stick to the wall.

My favorite poll story:
When Bush's approval ratings started taking a real nose dive a couple years ago, MN governor Tim Pawlenty, a true Bush Republican, said he'd stand behind his leader "even if his approval rating dropped to 2 percent." The next day newspapers around the country reported that Bush's approval among African Americans was 2 percent.
BTW, Pawlenty is one of the top seeds to be McCain's running mate. That's why we got stuck with the RNC convention. Anyhow, those praying for McSame will definately get it in a McCain-Pawlenty ticket. McCain voted with Bush 95 percent of the time, Pawlenty backs him 100 percent.
Two Bushies for the price of one. Can't get better for the extreme neocons or the Obama ad machine.
